WiFi is not fixed by Pushfix 2.0, nor does it have anything to do with the push fix or push notifications.

GPS : If you have applied my YouTube Fix packages on my source and GPS still doesn't work, you are suffering from a bug.

UPDATE Jan 16, 2010: New procedure as submitted by a user (thanks radiosky).

1)go to map application, your gps is not locking on...
2)push power button 5 sec to see power off notification
3)release power button and push and hold home button until maps application will close. it can take a while.
4) wait a few moments and run your maps again. within few sec your gps will working ...

UPDATE Jan 4, 2010 : New procedure to attempt to fix GPS. This has restored GPS for 2 users so far.

Turn off Location Services in Settings and then turn off your phone. Turn the phone back on and wait a couple minutes after it comes back to the home screen. Then, turn Location Services back ON. Next, go to Maps and leave it sit there until you get the pulsating dot. Your phone should sit upright against a wall or window while doing this. It is also ok if it is sitting in a dock (upright).

WiFi : If your WiFi does not work or you get very low bars, you are suffering from a bug.

Sometimes a restore fixes it and sometimes it doesn't and it is "permanent". For users under warranty, Apple does replace phones with WiFi problems, so it is my opinion they are aware of a problem.

I have seen this happen mostly for users who have restored their phones a large number of times, say 20+ times. A few users have had it happen on the first restore. I estimate there is a 1% chance of getting the bug between all users out there restoring.

Another user responded to a comment I posted on RedmondPie.com. I was talking about GPS, but the user responded with a problem with WiFi.

My post : Pushfix 2.0 doesn't fix GPS - I provide a free fix for that. You can add my source, cydia.pushfix.info and install one of my free YouTube Fix packages. If they don't fix your GPS, then you are suffering from an Apple bug. You could also try resetting your network settings, but be careful as this causes some people to go into a constant reboot loop. That's when you know for sure you are experiencing the bug.

Reply from "Cristian" : Please listen to the guy!! I had to restore twice due to this bug. Basically I can no longer turn off my phone, because it kills wi-fi. If I restore network settings, it enters an infinite loop when restarting and it's game over!

I can say that Apple should be aware of this problem.

As many users noted the issue after upgrading to 3.1.2 and subsequently unlocking and/or jailbreaking their iPhones, there was a concern that the hacks themselves could have introduced a problem. After seeing the volume of complaints from users of stock iPhones, however, Hotz concluded that his hack was not at fault.

Yeah, but if you read the threads from the Apple's discussion forums, you will see hundreds of users who are experiencing it too. It has nothing to do with my app. Others blame blackra1n, but the fact is no one really knows.

I have 2 iPhone 3G phones and neither of them has shown any WiFi loss with both using blackra1n and blacksn0w.

I will research more and try to come up with a fix, just to help everyone out. In the meantime, please spread the word about Pushfix 2.0. I know there are far more users out there who still don't know about it. The income from it will give me time and resources to do many other things for free.

I'd like to confirm this problem is not uncommon and actually affects several users. At least some of my friends that are using iPhones, specially 3GS (the model can be just anecdotal, but you never know). The carrier has just changed the phone when wifi dies forever. However, you have to check the span of your original warranty, because here in Chile it is only 1 year! I had to buy an "insurance" to extend it. It depends on your local law for how long they are willing to just replace the phone, so be careful!

The problem to me was this: if your wifi dies after unlock you can just "reset network settings" and it will work again. However, if you turn off your phone again, you will lose wifi and then if you reset the settings, the phone will enter a loop and you will be forced to restore! My wifi hasn't perpetually died out so far (luckily) but I know I can no longer turn off the phone!!

About Push Fix 2.0, all I can say it's that it works completely. I have my phone tied up to my original official carrier, but travel a lot abroad and need to unlock so I can use it in each country I visit, and also so I can tether while traveling. This caused Push to stop working altogether, even on my original carrier! I suppose somewhere along the road something nuked the certificates. Installing this app it's the only way to have push notifications everywhere, no matter which carrier you are in, so I'm really happy about it. Gladly paid the six bucks it costed.

I had weak wifi and intermittent/weak GPS reception, and the "new procedure" worked perfectly. I don't know how long it will last, but it's nice to have good reception again!

I'm on a non-hacktivated iPhone 3G, by the way, and I haven't installed any of the Youtube fixes in the Cydia repository. I guess I'll give that a try if/when the problem comes back.

My Wifi always lost/unable to detect network whenever i restart the iphone. What I did is, I turn it OFF for few minutes. After a few restart/reboot it detects.

I hate to do this, but seems like no choice.

Hello everyone. I never had Wifi prroblems. But what I have is GPS problems and I go crazy. I tried everything, but i don´t get it fixed.
I jailbreaked with blackrain to 3.1.2 and to 3.1.3 with redsnow. May it be, because I used redsnow additional? Thank you for any help...

I never had a problem with my wifi before installing pushfix. Now whenever i lock the phone and then unlock after say 5 minutes, the 3G is connected but my wifi connection has disconnected.. i can go back in to: settings->wifi and select my home network and re-connect no problem.. but every time i lock the phone again, whenever i come to unlock it has disconnected! Any ideas?

hi there ... i dont know if someone can help me! situation: iPhone 2g bought last here with 1.1.4 and now with 3.1.2 no problem really all work perfect ... of course some problem with push, that now fixed with push doctor!!! and .. 2 days ago arrived at home and there i have a wireless lan ... the iphone see the wifi connection enter then a few seconds later get out???? i say whats append?? so i'll restart the iphone and the router too .. so sometimes see the wifi sometimes no... and i dont know why ... the next day in my office 2 different wireless network .. nothing too ... see the router but when i select one connect and in a few seconds disconnected .... attention gps and u youtube work perfect ...... never had problems .... really uncredible ...

Hi pushfix,

I have an Iphone 3G where WIFI hasnt been working since OS 3.0. If i look in "about" the WIFI has got a MAC address so nothing greyed out and everything else is working, bluetooth, GPS etc. But i see no networks at all.

Any ideas?
